Throughout this periond you have been advancing your dog on non-technical multiple marks on land and water. You can now start to use handling as a tool for dealing with mistakes. Handle for fundamental mistakes like swithcing, returning to an old fall, or cheating obviously around cover. Strive for success in most of your marking training at this point. Wide open land and water triples compliment the technical work of the transition. They Know the Game You dog's momentum is increasing all the time and his/her handling is getting more reliable. You can correct him/her for fundamental errors without confusion. The daily sequence of training is critical for maintaining a good attitude. You are almost ready to run a Master Hunt Test. If you are a hunter your dog could now make a moderately difficult blind retrieve. Already you have a dog that will make your day of hunting much more enjoyable, as well as contributing to the conservation of game. | |
