Pattern Blinds

-You will teach 3-legged pattern blinds as the first step to running land blinds.

- Teach one leg at a time.  Repeat next time and teach a new one.

- Only enforce GO STOP COME but not always wih E-Collar Correction.  Cast to get the blind - - don't worry about precision casting right now.

Blind Drills

- Blind drills introduce diversions with blinds.  They are usefull for simply teaching diversions, but also for encouraging momentum and learning field casting.

  Step 1. Run Pattern Blind

  Step 2. Put gun in the field and then Run Pattern Blind again

  Step 3. Thro mark, Pick up mark and Run Pattern Blind again

- Handle if dog goes to gun in Step 2 or to old fall in Step 3.  Use attrition primarily, but some Collar pressure with indirect pressure may be used.  Take it easy - you don't want to create diversion nightmares for you dog.

- Also set up Blind drills off the pattern blind on a taught blind or with a simple cold blind ( only if all is going well on pattern blinds)

Diversions with Pattern Blinds

- The next step is to set up various diversions in the pattern blind field and run the pattern blinds with them.

- You can run a variety of orders and diversions.  You can introduce cold honors, poison birds, blinds under the arc of a mark, etc. etc.........

Introduction to Cold Blinds

- Identify some blinds in new places

- Run multiple cold blinds -- very wide open, flat fields.  Initial lines are not important as long as there are no cop-outs.......
