None of the basic handling skills are to be asked of your dog out in the field just yet!

You are still not doing blinds in the field.

The transition of the skills that will allow you to do a cold blind in the field will be carefully taught in the next phase of training.

The context of yard work and field work are two very different worlds.  At this point we are using the E-Collar to enforce obedience.

Again,  use caution to avoid over use of the E-Collar.........

In the field your dog should be fully steady now, and even in challenging situations.  He should be obedient and well mannered when coming to the line and waiting in a blind.

Your Marks should still be non-technical marks which will lead to a high rate of success.  Simple doubles and triples should be coming along nicely and the distance should be increasing considerably.

Your dog should be responding to your positioning him at the line with "heel" and "here" commands.  "Here" is to pull the dog toward you and forward; "Heel" is to push the dog away and back.

Remember the importance of flyers in training

You are now ready for the transition work!
